The case which involved the country’s house speaker, who is also the chairman of the Golkar party -the country's second largest political party.
Akbar was charged of having a role in the misuse of the Rp40 billion non-budgetary funds originating at the State Logistics Agency (Bulog). The case was also involved his three colleagues Dadang Sukandar, Winfried Simatupang and former Bulog chief Rahardi Ramelan.
