The case of
KOMPAS vs Sinivasan

Conglomerate Marimutu Sinivasan accused Kompas of committing libel in their reports on Texmaco. This company of Sinivasan was reported has severe financial crisis and becomes the largest single debtor to the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA). Sinivasan accused that the report brought negative effect for the company, that Indonesian banks are no longer trust Texmaco for receiving their loan. Because of that, the company's operation is 'disturbed'.

The response of Kompas (assisted by Amir Syamsuddin and partners) is that Sinivasan's arguments are factless and violate the rule of actori in cumbit onus probandi (who state it, has to proof it).
